TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) -- Iranian Seyed Rahim Moa’zzenzadeh Ardebili, an azan reciter of the Muslim world, said that he has always felt spiritually proud of reciting his azan. He added,”I have always carried this feeling within me, feeling quite content that my work will always remain in the minds and hearts of people.”
“Religious singers and maddahs (narrators of tragedies of Karbala) should be well aware of music styles and rhythms to represent better concepts of religious works,” he said.
“My father started work in radio in 1943 where he recited sahar (dawn) prayer. Then I continued the family tradition. It was in 1955 in Panzdah-e Khordad Square in Tehran where we recorded the azan which stuck in memories Iranian culture and religion,” he mentioned.
Following the research done on azan in several Islamic countries, the azan in Iran and especially the one intoned by Mo’azzenzadeh Ardebili is the most beautiful and melodic azan throughout the Islamic countries.
